Entomological Survey and Impact of Climatic Factors on the Dynamics of Sandflies in Central Morocco

Sandflies are small insects belonging to the order Diptera, which make up Phlebotominae subfamily within Psychodidae family. In fight against leishmaniasis in prefecture of Meknes, Morocco, a study phlebotomist population was carried out during period activity sandflies while studying link between abundance these and climatic factors, namely, temperature, moisture, rainfall, wind speed. A total 958 phlebotomus were captured, 73% belong Phlebotomus sergenti, vector Leishmania species causing human cutaneous leishmaniasis.
